Learning About Your Different Internet Auction Options

With the Internet being the vast, incredible resource that it is today, it is no wonder why things like Internet auctions have become so popular, especially over the past few years in particular. Internet auctions are great for one because you can save so much money but as well because they are so easy. You basically just point and click and do everything right online from the comfort of your own home, which is extremely convenient.

The biggest problem that most people find is figuring out which specific Internet auction to go to, because there are so many to choose from. The best way to go about this is by determining exactly what it is that you are looking for and then working from there, because most Internet auction sites are based around one particular type of industry.

Your Options

The Auction .com website is a great option, one of many, and it offers an incredible list of categories, including antiques, art, bags, carry cases, boat parts, camping, collectibles, dolls, bears, clothing, consumer electronics, photography, albums, all terrain vehicles, pottery, video games, tools and hardware, shoes, pet supplies, music and more.

CDN Auction is another great Internet auction site available to you here, and they offer everything from cigars, computers and hobbies to hockey cards, video games, and PDAs. Their auction processes are easy to understand and you can find some really great deals as they have partnerships with a few well known and respected companies around the world.

Remember

There are some important basic rules to remember whenever you are buying from Internet auction sites. First you should always check to make sure that the company is certified with the Better Business Bureau, because then right away you know that they are a legit and respectable company. You can find out a lot of valuable information this way, such as how long they have been in business, whether they have had any complaints and so on.

You also want to see what payment options they offer, with credit cards being one of the safest options for consumers to use when paying for items bought on an Internet auction. They allow buyers to seek a credit from the credit card issuer also known as a chargeback, if the product is not delivered or is not what they ordered or were expecting.

Also remember that if you do encounter a problem with Internet auction fraud you should complain to the FTC, and this is in regards to any sellers who fail to send you your merchandise, send something of lesser value than advertised, fail to deliver in a timely manner, or fail to disclose all relevant information about a product or terms of the sale.

Buying at Vehicles at State Auctions

Many people have alot to say on the subject of government surplus auctions. Many experienced traders have spent years perfecting the art of being good at these auctions and buying assets at great prices.
So which entities hold auctions? Federal departments and agencies conduct auctions as well as agencies on a State level. Many folks prefer state vehicle auctions as they are a little less attended by your competition – other bidders.

Not a commonly known bit of information is that cars, truck and SUV’s make up on average just below 55% of the the state’s surplus goods. The auctioning of surplus assets at state auctions are a huge countrywide industry of billions of dollars. It’s therefore pretty simple to realise why it’s so important to attend them if you’re interested in buying your next car.

Most State governments have created departments whose sole responsibility is to purchase, sell (at auctions) and manage the state’s vast fleet of cars, truck and SUV’s. The explanation for this is because the effort involved to manage a sizeable state fleet is alot of work and requires a good level of knowledge.

If you want to find vehicles for sale at state auctions the best thing to do would be to get in touch with the State’s Asset management department. Usually they will have a good understanding on how to help you, or in the very least give you contact details of the right people to speak to. When you have the schedule of events for the next quarter (6 months), the way forward is to start doing your research and preparation work for the auction day.

Many states use online platforms to conduct the auctions, but others still hold them at auction lanes during public events at warehouses. From time to time this can be a little puzzling - particularly if you’re not used to it. The best idea in these situations is to take it easy.  If you’re new at auction, the worst thing to do is to just start bidding. This is a guaranteed method to loose money and get burnt. The most effective way to get involved with these auctions is by first starting to attend as many events as possible and get to know the industry players and processes more intimately. There is no substitute for experience, and this is also very much true for if you wish to buy a car at state vehicle auctions.

Buying at state vehicle auctions requires you to follow the same rules as buying at other places. Avoid paying anytging more than the true market value of the car and stay away from the cars with potentially significant mechanical problems. This will ultimately help you to choose the best and perfect car for your needs.

State Surplus Auctions

The federal and provincial administrations of countries around the world are large participants in their respective economies. Some more so than others. This is also true for State administrations in the USA. State administrations countrywide are big players in the economy. Don’t be duped into the idea that they are just there to provide the basic civil services like social security and law enforcement. States are also generally responsible for issues relating to consumer protection and education. Therefore, because of their size, these state administrations require (just likes us) office equipment, vehicles, telephones, computers.

a Bit of great news for bargain hunter auction junkies is that the state government departments don’t throw away these surplus equipment and assets after they used it. State surplus auctions are normally the preferred method of disposal for these goods.

If you run a small business and are looking to buy new equipment for your business, this is a great place to focus your resources. Or maybe you’re a retail consumer that’s looking for ways to furnish your home at as low a cost as possible. Whatever your situation, the state surplus auctions are a ’solid place’ to shop around.

So what kind of goods can you expect at the auction?

1. Vehicles
2. Cars
3. Mechanical Supplies
4. Desktops
5. Computers
6. Scrap Metal

What I just mentioned is merely the start. There are a huge variety of different goods, vehicles and other assets being sold. You may find very often that some goods are too little in value to be sold individually in which case it will be packaged and sold as one parcel.

The states usually does a pretty good job to publize the upcoming event through websites and hardcopy publications. Normally they will also allow bidders to have a close inspection of the assets before the big day. There is no federal directive in place which gives guidance for states on how to sell their surplus goods. Some sell their goods at an online auction whilst others prefer the ‘older’ sealed bid method.

Surplus auctions at state departments have, for a long time now, given huge bargains for bidders. A number of people have built successful businesses around the big savings they found at these auctions. These auctions are frequently conducted and is a great way for buyers to get goods at very low prices.
